With over 35 years of experience in the therapeutic field, I’m a qualified counsellor and therapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My work spans therapy with children, young people, adults, and families, with particular expertise in trauma-informed care, creative interventions, and team support within children’s residential settings.
A Little About My Background
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through a wide range of challenges, from early childhood trauma to adult mental health and family crisis. I'm passionate about the power of connection and creativity in healing. I believe in working alongside people, in ways that are respectful, honest, and hopeful.
Key Experiences Include
My practice is grounded in respect, collaboration, and a deep belief in each person’s capacity for growth. Whether I’m working one-to-one with a child, supporting a care team, or delivering training, my approach is always ethical, trauma-aware, and rooted in real-world experience.
Her name is Bella, my Italian Greyhound
For two years Simon worked in a home that I managed. He was so much more than a children's therapist in that he supported the development of the staff team and enabled the home to become truly trauma informed.
I have worked with Simon for a number of years. He is an amazing therapist and his training is exceptional. Simon brings a unique approach to engaging children and young people to support them to reach their full potential. He is therapeutic at heart and is someone you want in your team when you are working with children who communicate via challenging behaviours.
Very appropriate, interesting, relevant and engaging. All companies should have this within their training. Simon has great knowledge and skill. He is an asset.
The home achieved consecutive Ofsted 'outstanding' ratings. As well as being instrumental in helping us achieve such ratings, Simon also played a central role in making the home a fun and safe place to live for four young people.
